Volunteers are the heart of the Coastal SNAP organization. We encourage community members to volunteer at Coastal SNAP programs in a number of ways:

  • Coaching

  • Fundraising

  • Registrar

  • Coordinators

  • Board Members

Volunteers must be passionate about enriching the lives and experiences of the special needs community by providing an inclusive, positive social environment for all participants.

The relationships formed between athletes and Student Mentors, both on the field and in the community, are what make Coastal SNAP a successful, enriching experience for all involved.

The Student Mentor serves as the support person / buddy for the athlete.  The Mentor helps to support the mission of the SNAP program and the goal for inclusion and sportsmanship for all athletes.

Volleyball Team

Our programs are staffed by adult coaches along with high school mentors who serve as peer role models and teammates.

Coastal SNAP programs are designed to be flexible, and prerequisite skills are not required. Coaches and mentors strive to meet each particular child at his or her own level, providing 1:1 assistance for those who require it. All of our volunteers are CORI checked and trained prior to working with our participants.
